After dinner, Jesse and I head to the parking lot where he parked. Jaycee, Blue, Abigail and Nick follow and I grab my packages from Jaycee’s trunk. We talk briefly about meeting in the lobby around eight o’clock. That will give everyone enough time to run home, grab an overnight bag, check in to the hotel and change for tonight. Mostly it will give Jesse and me some time together.

Grandma Lila and Callie are having a sleepover in her room. The adults are splitting up. Jesse’s uncles, aunts, and parents and my parents are heading to The Republic of Texas while the rest of us head to Benny’s, a nightclub not far from the hotel. We plan to meet back up for breakfast.

Jesse pulls me towards his car and it’s the first time I really get a good luck at it. It’s a super sleek black car. I’m instantly in love with it and agree it fits him perfectly. “What kind of car is this?” I ask running my finger along the hood.

“Allie, you can’t touch her like that. You have to be careful with her.” he chastises me and inspects where I very lightly ran my finger along the hood.

“Like what? I hardly touched it.” I return, confused.

“Her. She's a her. Not an it.” he responds totally offended.

“Sorry.” I roll my eyes and mumble. He must have been holding back his concern for her at the court house.

“It’s okay. She’s a 1965 Mustang Fastback and her name is Reba.” He smiles at her, the car.

Reba?

“Should I be jealous, Jesse?” I giggle.

“Can’t lie. If I could marry her, just might have.”

My jaw drops when he says that but then he starts laughing.

“Just kidding, baby.” He opens the door for me. I sit down but before I can do anything he reaches across me and fastens my seatbelt. “No reasons to touch anything so just stay like you are.” he orders.

The hell he was kidding. He would marry this car.

He gets in and I turn my body towards him. “So you can touch and reset everything in my car but I can’t touch yours?” I ask incredulously.

“Baby, let’s not have our first fight on our wedding day, okay?” He reaches over; carefully turns my body back facing forward then inspects the seat for marks from where I twisted.

Oh, brother!

A few minutes later, Jesse pulls into the hotel’s valet parking and turns off the car. A valet steps forward, opens the car door and helps me out. We both stand back and wait as Jesse lectures and warns another valet, a young kid half Jesse’s size, before reluctantly holding up the keys. The kid swallows hard before carefully taking them. The poor kid glances back at Jesse repeatedly as he painstakingly slow gets into the car all the while Jesse glaring at him. The kid finally starts the car and drives off at a snail's pace.

All I can do is laugh and shake my head.
